A new chapter for GHAMSU UCC Media and Publicity Team

July 22, 2024

GHAMSU UCC Local Media and Publicity Team has inducted into office new executives to serve the union for the 2024/2025 Spiritual and Academic year.

The Handing-over and Induction ceremony was chaired by Bro. Benedict Amekeh, Immediate Past Chairman of the Union. Bro Benedict, giving an exhortation during the event underscored the importance of media and publicity in church building and expansion.
He stated that some churches are known today because of the media and that, the media plays an important role in building the church.
He lauded the media team for their selfless service and admonished them not to be discouraged by negative sentiments from some members and other executives.
He further urged the newly inducted executives to have that consciousness that they are not working for only the union but unto God also.

Handing Over
As part of the ceremony, the executive body for the 2023/2024 Academic and Spiritual year made an account to the congregation present on their achievements, challenges and projections for the coming years.

Achievements
The outgone executive body highlighted some achievements they chalked during their period in office including the purchase of a new laptop and a battery for the team with the help of the union, the formation of the content creation team, the quick release in sharing of flyers and edited pictures and also the organization of hangouts and photo walks for it members.

Challenges

Some challenges they stated during their tenure of office were mainly because of the lack or inadequacy in some media equipment such as digital cameras, tripod and others which further hindered them from effectively performing their roles to project the image of Christ.

Projections

The outgone director of photography admonished the newly-inducted director of photography to maintain the culture of “quick release” in sharing editing pictures which the outgone executives introduced when they assumed office.

In a response from the newly-inducted house, they thanked the old house for their commitment to duty, helping members acquire new skills and increasing the team’s female membership. The newly inducted executives accepted the call to serve the union relentlessly with their resources. The ceremony ended with a round of handshakes from the old house to the new house.
