The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Prof. J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, paid a visit to the Ghana Methodist Students’ Union (GHAMSU) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Local on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
During his visit, he declared, “We have a biblical mandate to live a sanctified life.” Addressing a packed auditorium at the SK Agyapong Lecture Theatre, the Presiding Bishop delivered a stirring call for holiness, spiritual discipline, and moral integrity among Christian students. He urged them to set themselves apart by sanctifying themselves, emphasizing that sanctification is a cardinal doctrine of the Methodist Church Ghana.
The Presiding Bishop’s visit aimed to connect more deeply with the youth of the Church, particularly those in tertiary institutions. In his keynote address, he extended warm greetings to the Vice Chancellor of UCC and expressed gratitude to the GHAMSU leadership and the Diocesan Bishop for their contributions to the growth of the Methodist Church Ghana.
In his sermon, themed “Divine Wonders Come to Those Who Wait,” the Presiding Bishop emphasized that Christians must live according to biblical principles. Citing Joshua 3:5, he stated that to see the hand of God in their lives, things must be done God’s way. He commended young people who engage in dawn ministrations, highlighting their dedication to spiritual discipline.
Following his sermon, the Presiding Bishop announced the upcoming launch of the Methodist Entrepreneurship and Development Programme at Aburi. The program will feature a new 2,000-capacity pavilion to be constructed for such activities.
The Presiding Bishop, assisted by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Andam and other reverend ministers led the congregants in taking the Lord’s Supper. The Connexional, Diocesan, and Local Executives of GHAMSU expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Presiding Bishop’s visit.
