In a spirit-filled ceremony marked by gratitude, reflection, and renewed commitment, the Ghana Methodist Students’ Union (GHAMSU) UCC Local officially handed over leadership to its newly elected executives for the 2025/2026 Spiritual and Academic Year on Sunday, 27th July 2025, at the SMS Auditorium.
The solemn yet celebratory event marked the end of an impactful administration and the beginning of a new chapter of service and spiritual commitment. The service was graced by the Diocesan Youth Organizer of Cape Coast Diocese, Rev. Beverlyn E. Kyei Boateng, and the Campus Ministry Coordinator, Rev. Kwaku Ankrah, alongside several associates and distinguished guests.
In his heartfelt handing-over address, outgoing Local Chairman Bro. Daniel Kassim expressed profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness throughout his administration. He acknowledged the tireless support of his executives and members, emphasizing that their dedication and unity made their tenure fruitful. Reflecting on their journey, he cited 2 Timothy 4:7, declaring, “We have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.”
Bro. Kassim also charged the incoming executives to embrace their leadership role as a divine assignment, urging them to serve with humility, courage, and unwavering devotion to God’s Word. He reminded members that GHAMSU is more than an association; it is “a family, a training ground, and a mission field.” He called for continued commitment to its mission of raising disciples and shining the light of Christ on campus.
The highlight of the ceremony was the induction of the new executives, led by the new Local Chairman, Bro. Yoofi Baah Ahenful-Gyan, for the 2025/2026 Spiritual and Academic Year. In his acceptance speech, Bro. Ahenful-Gyan humbly received the mantle of servant leadership on behalf of the executives, expressing deep reverence to God for the opportunity to serve. He outlined their vision to uphold GHAMSU’s evangelical legacy through vibrant outreaches, fervent prayer, discipleship, and fostering unity and love among all ambassadors.
He further expressed gratitude to the outgoing administration for their remarkable service and assured the union that his team’s commitment to collective growth and spiritual maturity remains unwavering. Calling on all stakeholders to support the new leadership, he said, “With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are confident that we will fulfil the divine purpose of God ordained for us.”
The service concluded with prayers of blessing over the new executives, charging them to lead with integrity and godly conviction.
